Parramatta RSL’s Bowls Club have bowled over competitors!
Parramatta RSL’s Men’s Bowls Club has won the Zone 10 Championship! The Men beat 24 other clubs for the title of Zone Champion.
The games were played at Denistone East Bowling Club on the 29th & 30th May 2010. On the Sunday the team was 20 shots behind going into the final round; coming from behind the team won by 33 and took out the title.
The Men’s team gets to compete at the NSW State Championship against teams that won their respective Zone Competition. These teams come from City and Country areas from all round NSW. State finals will be played at Campbelltown City Bowling Club and Camden Bowling Club on the 31st July 2010.
Warren Glenny, President and chairman of Parramatta RSL said, “On behalf of Parramatta RSL I would like to congratulate the Men’s Bowls Club on their win and wish them the best of luck with the State Championships”.
The team members include: Nick Hornery, Graham Nolan, Bill Carder, Wally Eurell, Ronnie Lambert, Gary Dunn, Steve Hayes, Stan Knight, Alan Currie, George Gallea, Kevin Bender, Ron Brown, Neil Dixon, Doug Sharman, Scott McNally, Harrold Hughes, Brian O’Neil, George Chung and Peter Meyer (Side Manager).
