Parramatta RSL’s chefs cook up a storm for the families at Ronald McDonald House

On Thursday the 6th of August, Parramatta RSL Club cooked up a storm for the families and volunteers at Ronald Macdonald House.

The families and volunteers were treated to a two course meal prepared freshly by the Executive Chef from Parramatta RSL. They enjoyed chicken breast wrapped in Prosciutto and char–grilled lamb loin chops served with a tangy, minted yoghurt. Both of which are meals that are part of Parramatta’s new Winter Warmers Dinner Menu. For desert they indulged in sticky date pudding served with a luscious butterscotch sauce.

The Parents got to sit back and relax as Parramatta RSL also provided the kids with entertainment. They enjoyed face painting, a fun clown show and were mesmerized by the magic show. The children even got to decorate cupcakes with the help of Parramatta RSL’s Executive chef.

Since 1981 Australia’s 12 Ronald McDonald Houses have provided more than 45,000 families with more than 1.2 million bed nights. The Houses are for those travelling from the country; without the House, there would be no place for them to stay whilst their child is receiving treatment. Staff and volunteers ensure that families are given the support and homely environment they need at what is an extremely difficult time in their lives.

For first course delight your taste buds with the chefs soup of the day. This soup is cooked with the freshest ingredients every day and will be ever changing showcasing our chefs latest creations.

For your second course, dinners have an array of options, with dishes to satisfy all cravings. Some of the dishes include Asian Style Belly of Pork, slow cooked to perfection served with jasmine rice and Asian greens, finished perfectly with a soy glaze.

Feeling like something really hearty, then our Beef & Guinness Pie is for you. The scrumptious beef & Guinness filling is topped with crispy pastry and served with crunchy chips and a fresh salad.

For the pasta lovers we have two options; the delicious Tortellini Boscaiola or the traditional Ricotta Ravioli with fresh tomato and basil sauce. Both will leave you more than satisfied.
