Parramatta RSL’s fundraisers over $12,000 to help give sick kids the best medicine – their famil

Parramatta RSL has given Ronald McDonald House at Westmead $12,680.25 to help provide assistance to the many families with sick children.

As the nation celebrated Australia Day Parramatta RSL held fun festivities in their car park to raise money for this very worthwhile cause. There were plenty of fun activities for the whole family. There were clowns, live music, jumping castles and of course Australia day wouldn’t be complete without an Aussie BBQ.

Money was also raised from gold coin donations that were collected through out the day as well as from the sale of raffle tickets for $1000 worth of fantastic prizes.

Castle Hill RSL Group President and Chairman said, “Parramatta RSL is very proud to support Ronald McDonald House Westmead, they play a vital role in the lives of sick children and their family. We plan to continue to work in partnership to support this worthy cause.”

Adrienne Pearson House General Manager of Ronald McDonald House said, ”Ronald McDonald House Westmead thanks Parramatta RSL and the support given to the families of seriously ill children. The best medicine is to have your family around you and the community support we receive enables us the do just that.”

Since 1981 Australia’s 12 Ronald McDonald Houses have provided more than 45,000 families with more than 1.2 million bed nights. The Houses are for those travelling from the country; without the House, there would be no place for them to stay whilst there child is receiving treatment. Staff and volunteers ensure that families are given the support and homely environment they need at what is an extremely difficult time in their lives.
