Parramatta RSL Launches Appeal for Victorian Bush Fire Victims

Parramatta RSL has today launched an appeal to raise money for the victims of the devastating bushfires that have raged the past few days across many parts of Victoria.

Castle Hill RSL Group General Manager David O’Neil said he expects many members of the Parramatta RSL to make donations to the appeal to boost the fundraising efforts.

Castle HILL RSL Group President and Warren Glenny said,

“The devastation that has filled our TV screens and radios the past two days is beyond comprehension. It’s such a helpless feeling; all we can do is help raise as much money as possible for those people who have lost everything they previously had. All money raised will be donated to the Red Cross, who are co-ordinating the Victorian Government’s Bushfire Appeal. The Red Cross is doing a fantastic job on the ground providing food, water and shelter as well as comfort to the victims, while the Country Fire Authority (CFA) continue to fight the fires. I would hope that despite the uncertain economic time now facing corporate Australia, that many businesses and community members will recognise the devastation of Australia’s worst ever natu-ral disaster far outweighs all other concerns. I encourage all Parramatta business and community members to and donate whatever they can afford to this most worthy of causes.”
