PARRAMATTA RSL LAUNCHES ANZAC DAY PRIMARY SCHOOLS EDUCUATIONAL KIT FOR KIDS TO ‘CELEBRATE THE TRADITION’
Parramatta RSL has launched an ANZAC Day Primary Schools Educational Kit for young people to celebrate the tradition of ANZAC DAY in Australia.
The educational kit has been designed in a fun, interactive and engaging away with a diverse range of activities suitable for primary school children to learn about ANZAC Day.
All schools within the Parramatta LGA will be provided the kit so that teachers can utilise the resources in the classroom in the lead up to ANZAC Day 2010 to educate young people on the Australian ANZAC tradition. Each of the engaging activities can be downloaded from a DVD in the kit for teachers to utlise in the classroom.
The kits ambassador retired General Peter Cosgrove said the “Parramatta RSL ANZAC Day School Educational Kit is a wonderful example of a learning resource which using a variety of methods, engages younger Australians in an attractive way, to prompt them to develop and nurture an interest in this part of our nation's history”.
Castle Hill RSL Group President Warren Glenny said “The Parramatta RSL ANZAC Day Primary Schools Educational Kit will assist young people to have a greater understanding of ANZAC Day. We acknowledge and commend young Australians for their increasing awareness and active participation in ANZAC Day, a day that is critical to our nation’s history, culture and pride”.
The kit was officially launched by Parramatta RSL’s ANZAC DAY Youth Ambassador Brinda Srinivas (Year 5 Wentworthville Public School).
